Post Consumer Recycling
To do business in the commercial, social housing or refurbishment sectors, all contractors, manufacturers and installers must be able to demonstrate a commitment to energy efficiency, waste reduction, sustainable manufacture and responsible disposal of waste materials.
Ecoplas is entering into partnerships with existing suppliers, both systems companies and fabricators, and with construction companies, housing associations and local authorities to ensure that the PVC-u frames, that are being replaced are collected and recycled in a responsible way. The collection of redundant frames provides new challenges and Ecoplas has responded by investing in a fleet of roll on roll off skips and a number of strategic partnerships have been formed with waste management and logistics companies around the UK so that individual sites can be provided with an appropriate solution.
Ecoplas has invested in the necessary, plant equipment and new technology to handle and process substantial volumes of post consumer materials.
The process involves, breaking up the frames before passing through a hammer mill which reduces the pieces into fragments. The down sized material has the metal components removed and is then passed through separation and cleaning processes to remove all non PVC materials. The clean PVC is then converted into granules, powder or pellets and reintroduced to extrusion companies thus completing the closed loop from original manufacture through recycling to reuse.

Ecoplas are open for accepting end of life PVC frames and are exceeding the volumes we are taking in each week to feed our reprocessing plant and satisfy our customers demand for recycled post consumer materials. Call our procurement team on 01757282828 to arrange delivery or collection.
